Sentence Joining — English skill building

Join the following sets of sentences to form a single sentence.

1. My father gave no sweater. He gave me no blanket. 

2. I met an old friend in the market. He was my neighbour 10 years ago.

3. The boy fell off from a roof. Its height is 15 feet. He escaped with minor scars.

4. India imports crude oil from Russia. Russia uses this money for its Ukraine operations.

5. The people of Kantabanji continue to migrate to other states to work in beck kilns. Mr. Naveen Patanaik’s government failed to stop such migration. He lost the election due to this.

Ans 1… My father neither gave me a sweatder, nor a blanket.

Although the boy fell from a 10-foot-high roof, he escaped with minor scars. ( See how I wrote ‘10-foot-high’. Don’t write ‘10- feet-high’. Insert the- marks twice.)

Ans 4 …. Russia uses the money it earns from exporting crude oil to India.(See how I used the word. ‘exports’ in place of ‘imports’.)
